About Yosun

Yosun Özkan works with both watercolor and acrylic paint. She draws inspiration from the joyful memories of her childhood, her dreams and daily life. Her works are dominated by warm and soft colors. Naturalness and emotional depth are at the forefront of her artistic practice. Her studio is based in Istanbul.

She studied interior architecture. After graduation, she worked as an interior architect in Istanbul for two years. Wanting to express her creativity more freely, she learned silver processing during this time and turned towards this field. She pursued a master’s degree in accessory design at Politecnico di Milano.

Following her master’s degree, she went to Mexico to synthesize two different silver processing traditions. To bring her plans to life, she first learned Spanish, then engaged in jewelry design, production, and sales.

She never lost touch with painting. She shared the watercolor works she had accumulated over the years with art enthusiasts at her first solo exhibition, "Paz Picante," held in Mexico City in 2024.

Yosun Özkan's art invites the viewer into the warmth of daily life and the magic of dreams. In her works, scenes shaped by soft colors open a door to the joyful memories of the past and inner journeys.
